Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date Boutique Edition: A Dive Watch with Glacial Inspiration

Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date Boutique Edition

In 2022, Montblanc introduced the 1858 Iced Sea, their first collection of sports diving watches. The collection was praised for its unique dial design, inspired by glacial ice. In 2023, Montblanc expanded the collection with a new Boutique Edition model, which offers a few tweaks to the original design.

Specs and Design

The Boutique Edition has a 41mm stainless steel case with a domed sapphire crystal. It is water resistant to 300 meters and features a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert. The dial is textured to resemble glacial ice and is available in three colors: green, blue, and gray. The hands and markers are coated with Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility.

The Boutique Edition comes with two straps: a stainless steel bracelet and a green rubber strap. The bracelet has a quick-adjust clasp for easy on-the-fly sizing, and the rubber strap has a deployant clasp.

The watch is powered by the Caliber MB 24.17, which is based on the Sellita SW200-1. It has a power reserve of 41 hours and beats at 28,800 vph.

What's Different about the Boutique Edition?

The Boutique Edition has a few unique features that set it apart from the other Iced Sea models. First, it comes with both a stainless steel bracelet and a green rubber strap. Second, the bezel insert is black, rather than color-matched to the dial. Third, the caseback is engraved with a green scuba diver logo.

Overall Impressions

The Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date Boutique Edition is a well-made and stylish dive watch. It is comfortable to wear and has a unique dial design that is sure to turn heads. However, it is also one of the most expensive models in the Iced Sea collection. If you are looking for a dive watch with a unique look and feel, the Boutique Edition is a great option. However, if you are on a budget, you may be better off with one of the other models in the collection.
