The Porsche 911 is turning 60 in 2023, and Porsche Design is celebrating with a new watch. The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 911 S/T is limited to 1,963 pieces, the same as the number of 911 S/T cars being produced.
The watch is made of titanium, to match the lightweight design of the car. It has a 40.8mm case and a thickness of 15.15mm. The movement is the Porsche Design Werk 01.240, which is based on the Valjoux 7750. The watch is COSC-certified and has a flyback function.
The dial is inspired by the heritage-style tachometer that can be ordered in some 911 models. It has white and green markers on a black background, with concentric lines between the Arabic numerals. The subdials are marked with "M" for minutes, "S" for seconds, and "H" for hours.
The watch comes with a titanium bracelet and a perforated leather strap made from genuine Porsche vehicle leather. The Heritage version of the watch has a Classic Cognac colored leather strap.
The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 911 S/T is priced at $13,500 USD. It is one of the more expensive optional extras one can order for their new 911. However, it is a high-quality watch that is sure to be a collectible.
Here are some additional details about the watch:
- The rotor is designed to mimic the wheel rim design unique to the 992 911 S/T.
- The bracelet has screw-secured links throughout its entire length.
- The front sapphire crystal has a "hard coating" as well as "seven-fold anti-glare properties on both sides" with the promise of superb legibility.
